Product Description
Dwarf Purple Flower Wild Chrysanthemum
Perennial herb, 15-50 cm tall, with creeping stems. The stems are erect, with branches that ascend obliquely and spread out, but usually only the upper part has a few umbellate flower cluster branches, or few to no branches. The lower part of all stems is purplish-red, with sparse short soft hairs, while the upper part and the flower cluster area have slightly more hairs, or are almost hairless to smooth. The leaves on the middle and lower parts of the stem are ovate, broad ovate, broadly triangular, or nearly rhombic, 1.5-4 cm long and 1-3.5 cm wide, with twice pinnately divided. The first division is nearly entire, with 2-3 pairs of lateral lobes; the second division is deeply or half divided. The second division lobes are triangular or oblique triangular, up to 3 mm wide, with a short pointed tip. The upper stem leaves are small, elongated oval, deeply pinnately divided, or broad linear and undivided. The middle and lower stem leaves have petioles 1-4 cm long. All leaves are of the same color or nearly the same color on both sides, with sparse short soft hairs to hairless. The head-like flower clusters have a diameter of 1.5-4.5 cm, usually with 2 to 5 loosely arranged in an umbellate flower cluster at the top of the stem branches, rarely solitary. The involucre is shallowly dish-shaped. The involucre bracts are in 4 layers; the outer layer is linear or linear-lanceolate, 3.5-8 mm long, with a rounded tip and membranous expansion; the middle inner layer is oval or elongated oval, 3-7 mm long. The edges of all bracts are white or brown membranous, with sparse short soft hairs only on the outer surface of the outer layer, and nearly hairless on the middle and outer layers. The ligulate flowers are white or purplish-red, with ligules 10-20 mm long, with entire or slightly notched tips. The achenes are 1.8 mm long. Flowering and fruiting period is from July to September.
